It's crazy what all can happen in a days time! Yesterday I was off work, so Jon and I made plans to look (again) at a house we really like. We went to the house and were reminded how much we love it! It's got lots of charm! The original hardwood floors look great and creak when you walk! I love that sound! There is an amazing sun room. It actually has a separate laundry room. The backyard is perfect for us and the pups! The house would suit us perfectly! We ended up making a contingent offer, meaning if we sell our house we would buy theirs. Keeping our fingers crossed that someone buys our house soon!!
Now let's go back a couple days to Sunday...Jon was playing a flag football game and some guy on the other team stomped on his ankle/achilles tendon. Jon immediately fell to the ground in excruciating pain. We decided he needed to see an orthopedist because the swelling was getting worse, he couldn't walk on it, and the pain was still there. Fast forward to yesterday...Jon got a call from the orthopedic specialists office letting him know they could fit him in to their schedule. Off we went to the doctor's office. After the physical exam, an X-ray, and a MRI the doctor concluded that Jon's achilles is ruptured/totally torn and requires surgery. Jon left the doctor with a huge boot, crutches, and an appointment for surgery next Wednesday. Not what we had bargained for!
Right after the appointment I met a real estate agent at our house because we are thinking of listing our house with her. She walked through our house and took some notes and left us with some paperwork to fill out. We haven't had any luck selling our house by owner so this is our next step, especially since we have a contingent offer on a house now.
There is a lot going on around our house these days and I keep reminding myself of this verse from Isaiah 41:13...
"For I am the Lord your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you."
Although these things were not in our plans, they are in His plan and it will all work out in the end!

It's Official!
That's right. Our house is officially up for sale! I toyed with the idea of selling our house and tried to get Jon on board at the beginning of this year, but was not successful at that time. Quite a few things have come up this summer that made us both realize that moving would be beneficial. It was a really hard decision to make, especially since we had this house built. We picked out everything in it. We made it our own. Now that we are looking for a new house, we are having to make some compromises. We definitely did things backward, by building our first house and now buying an older house, but it will all work out. I think HGTV's House Hunters should put us on their show! We seem to be really picky about things that no one else cares about I'm sure. Our main hang up on most of the houses we have looked at is the laundry room, or lack thereof. Some of the washers and dryers have been in the garage, some have been an extension of the kitchen counter, some are stacked on top of one another in a tiny closet, and none of these options will work for us! We are continuing to look and staying positive. I know the perfect house for us will show up soon enough. For the time being we are hoping to get our house sold. So, all five (I'm aiming high) of you that read this, please pass on to all of your friends and family about our house!!
